Depending on their chosen option, Fedhealth members have access to day-to-day benefits for those everyday medical expenses.
On Fedhealth’s flexiFED options, members have the choice between three ways to structure their day-to-day benefits: as a hospital plan, a savings plan or a flexible savings plan.
Our flexible savings plan is truly unique because it’s like a savings back-up plan, where members can choose how much they want to use, and only pay for what they use – interest free over 12 months. If they don’t use any of their Fedhealth Savings (or MediVault allocation, as we call our day-to-day savings on the flexiFED options) for day-to-day medical expenses, they don’t need to pay a cent for it. This innovative facility, the MediVault and Wallet system, really gives Fedhealth members more control over their monthly medical aid costs.
On Fedhealth’s myFED option, members enjoy an out-of-hospital benefit funded by the Scheme.
On Fedhealth’s maxiFED options, comprising maxima EXEC and maxima PLUS, we provide comprehensive day-to-day benefits like unlimited Fedhealth Network GP visits once either the member’s Savings (maxima EXEC) or Out-of-Hospital Expenses Benefit (maxima PLUS) is depleted. The funds in the member’s Medical Savings Account (MSA) are used to pay for day-to-day medical expenses, while the Threshold benefit pays for comprehensive day-to-day expenses once claims have accumulated to the Threshold level. Finally, maxima PLUS also has an Out-of-Hospital Expenses Benefit (OHEB) that covers certain day-to-day expenses up to set amounts after the Savings Account has run out.
