Fedhealth is kicking off 2023 on a high note with the launch of a brand new, affordable hospital plan specifically for the digital generation: flexiFEDSavvy
Priced from just R945 per month for a principal member, Fedhealth hopes to cover young and healthy first-time medical aid members who otherwise might not join a medical scheme based on affordability challenges. Please note that all members on flexiFEDSavvy will be fully underwritten.
This new option, which has been approved by the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS), is named for the fact that it’s smart medical aid for young South Africans who are savvy about their health, money and time. Needless to say, it caters for a young, healthy, under 35s market who are not looking for hip or knee replacements or their parents’ medical aid. And, since Fedhealth designed flexiFEDSavvy for the digital generation, there’s no boring call centres involved; members can even complete their GP consults over video call.
Some of the benefits include:
- Unlimited private hospitalisation at network hospitals and cover with network GPs and specialists in-hospital
- 3 face-to-face GP consultations per year
- Unlimited virtual (video call) GP consultations.
Another attractive selling point for the option is that members can enjoy the flexibility of funding their day-to-day in one of four ways:
- Use flexiFEDSavvyas a Supercharged Hospital plan: the member funds all their own additional out-of-hospital expenses not already covered;
- Use it as a Supercharged Savings Plan: the member wants mostly a hospital plan, but likes the idea of having savings in case it’s needed. Similar to other schemes, the member starts paying back this day-to-day benefit from the start of the year in equal portions every month;
- Use it as a Supercharged Flexible Savings Plan: different from other schemes, the member chooses how much savings they want and only pays for the portion they use – interest free over 12 months;
- Use it as a Supercharged Hospital Plan and take out Sanlam Primary Standard Cover for R423 per month for valuable day-to-day benefits.
