How do the screening and immunisation benefits work?

Screening benefit

This benefit covers various screening and preventative programmes that aim to improve the member’s health.

Women’s Health
Breast cancer screening with mammography Women, 50 to 74 years old 1 every 3 years
Cervical cancer screening. However, we cover liquid based Cytology up to the rate for a standard PAP smear. Before members have PAP smears, they should check if these are going to be covered in full or not. If a member has a liquid-based cytology, she will have to pay a portion of this cost from her own pocket. Women, 21 to 65 years old 1 every 3 years

Cardiac Health
Cholesterol screening (full lipogram) Everyone 20 years old and older 1 every 5 years
Over 50s
Pneumococcal vaccination Everyone older than 65 1 per lifetime
Bone densitometry Women older than 65 1 per lifetime
Colorectal cancer screening (faecal occult blood test) Everyone; 50 to 75 years old 1 every 2 years
General
Flu vaccination Everyone 1 every year
