Here is a brief explanation of how to obtain your chronic medication depending on your Fedhealth option, and how to go about getting your medication delivered by the three courier pharmacies Clicks Direct Medicine, Dis-Chem Direct and Pharmacy Direct.

Please note: Medicine for HIV and AIDS must be obtained from Pharmacy Direct otherwise a 40% co-payment will apply.

On flexiFED 1, you must obtain chronic medicine from one of the Scheme’s designated service providers. If you fail to do so, you will have to pay a 40% co-payment. Fedhealth’s designated service providers for this option are Clicks, Dis-Chem, MediRite and the following courier pharmacies: Pharmacy Direct, Clicks Direct Medicines and Dis-Chem Direct.

On all Elect options, you must obtain chronic medicine from one of the Scheme’s designated service providers. If you don’t get your medicine from a DSP, you will have to pay a 40% co-payment. Fedhealth’s designated service providers for these options are the following courier pharmacies: Pharmacy Direct, Clicks Direct Medicines and Dis-Chem Direct.

On flexiFED 2GRID, you must obtain chronic medicine from one of the Scheme’s designated service providers. If you don’t get your medicine from a DSP, you will have to pay a 40% co-payment. Fedhealth’s designated service providers for this option are Clicks, Dis-Chem, MediRite and the following courier pharmacies: Pharmacy Direct, Clicks Direct Medicines and Dis-Chem Direct.

On all other options, you can obtain you chronic medicine from any of our preferred provider pharmacies namely Clicks, Dis-Chem, MediRite and the following courier pharmacies: Clicks Direct Medicines, Dis-Chem Direct and Pharmacy Direct. These preferred provider pharmacies ensure price certainty for members when obtaining medication. You may use any pharmacy, however if a dispensing fee in excess of 25%/R26.50 is charged, you will have to pay the difference.

To have your monthly chronic medication delivered, register using one of the options:

  • Email your prescription to documents@dischem.co.za
    Include the following information:
  • Patient's name
  • Medical aid name, option & membership number
  • Whether you are the main member
  • ID number
  • Contact details
