FEDHEALTH AND TOPMED AMALGAMATION
At Fedhealth, we’re always actively seeking new opportunities to improve our offering to you… and now, one such opportunity has come to light. Fedhealth finds itself in a position to absorb Topmed, one of the smaller, but more successful, open medical aid schemes in the country – a move which will greatly benefit our scheme and our members.
The Fedhealth and Topmed Boards of Trustees have approved the amalgamation of the two schemes. This new, bigger and better scheme will be known as Fedhealth, and since Topmed will be joining Fedhealth, it will not affect Fedhealth members in any way in terms of options and benefits.
From being better placed to negotiate with service providers, to a larger pool resulting in more sustainable benefit options, we believe that this proposed amalgamation will go a long way towards building a stronger Fedhealth for you.
As explained in the communication sent to all Fedhealth members, the proposed amalgamation requires member approval from both schemes in order for it to be approved by the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS). Please refer to this communication if you’d like to have your say as a Fedhealth member – please ensure you do so before 22 January 2019.
We trust you are just as excited as we are about unlocking a future of bigger possibilities for Fedhealth!
