Fedhealth’s Oncology Disease Management Programme has been structured especially to support members with cancer. Our team is made up of highly skilled healthcare professionals who work in conjunction with your doctor to ensure that the treatment you receive is both clinically appropriate and cost-effective. Our team is also supported by a number of oncologists and haematologists from the private, public and academic sectors.
What does the programme include?
Depending on your specific Fedhealth option, our Oncology Disease Management Programme gives you the following benefits:
- Access to the Independent Clinical Oncology Network (ICON)
- Coverage for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and associated medicine
- Consultations and visits
- Pathology
- Radiology
- Specialised radiology (e.g. CT scans, MRIs, angiography, radio-isotopes)
- PET scans
- Surgery and hospitalisation
- Stoma therapy
- Terminal care and private nursing

Oncology Innovative Medicine Co-funding Programme for maxima PLUS
Innovative cancer treatments are changing outcomes for many patients, but they can also be extremely costly. To help ease this burden, Fedhealth has introduced the Oncology Innovative Medicine Co-funding Programme for eligible maxima PLUS members.
This programme gives qualifying members improved access to a defined list of high-cost, innovative therapies for certain common cancers, while helping to limit out-of-pocket expenses through a co-funding arrangement from the Oncology Specialised Drug Benefit (SDB).
If you’re on maxima PLUS and living with cancer, this programme may give you access to more advanced treatment options, subject to clinical entry criteria and available oncology benefits.
